Nearly one person in ten iPad owning business professionals have stated that Apple’s iPad has become their convenient gadget of choice, wholly replacing their laptop.
IDG Connect conducted a study to explore the role of the iPad at the enterprise level. The “iPad for Business Survey 2012” featured interviews with all IT and industry professionals across the globe. The survey revealed that nearly 12% workers expressed that iPad has ‘entirely replaced’ their laptop and another 54% said that iPad has ‘partly’ replaced their laptop.
The study also state, nearly three-quarter of respondents ‘carry their laptops around less’ now since they possess an iPad. Talking about the desktop PC’s, 6% of the users said that iPad has ‘completely replaced’ their desktop, while 33% claimed that iPad has ‘partly’ replaced their PC’s.

The iPad is most commonly used for Web Browsing as stated by 79% of respondents. 76% used iPad for the purpose of reading and work communication earned 54%. Also 51% said that they “always” use their iPad at work and 79% users said they use the iPad outside the home.
Overall, iPad has become the ultimate choice among enterprise users. Apple representatives revealed that 90% of the Fortune 500 companies were deploying or testing the iPad, even though this wonder device has been in the market for the past 18 months only.
